what do atheists think of magic like witchcraft and spells, etc...?

ATHEIST - someone who does not believe in a God – any God – not just the Christian one. But that does not mean they do not hold strong moral or religious beliefs! They can follow any religion or believe in anything they want to that does not have a god!!

Well... most atheists are atheists since they don't see any proof of a god of any kind. That's the whole thing, if you can't prove it then it doesn't exist, and if it doesn't exist then there is no reason to believe in it. Since many take the same skeptic approach to the rest of life then magic, witchcraft and spells has to be proved as existing and functioning before they believe in it. And, since there are no proof of magic, witchcraft and spells being a real fact ... =) ... they don't exist either. Following the natural logic there is no point in believing in all that either.

There are atheist witches/mages around. It is not necessary to have belief in God/s to practise such.

I must state that all three are right,8497, 1953, and Revenant are right. It depends on the person. Most atheist do need to see before they believe. Some atheist have seen magic and there for believe in magic but not a god. It also depend how one may see magic considering there are many way at looking at magic.

I'm agnostic. I rarely have time for spells, so I see it as time-consuming.

Spells are not all of magic. There is more to magic and how one puts it into words. There are dream magic, spells, simply praying to who you believe in. The main componet in magic is the person themselves.

I am an Atheist, because I create my own religion, and it does not have a God or Goddess. Yet I do practice some witchcraft and I do believe in life after death and reincarnation. I have my own philosophies though, and I doubt anyone but me would understand them.

I believe your wrong about the understanding part dear. Why don't you try it out and see what happens. I always say that at time fear can help by making sure that one does not make a mistake but fear can also hold another back from a path of wisdom. I my self is very open to all things. So, let me hear yur thoughts.
