There are many different beliefs associated with witchcraft, so you'll get different answers depending on who you talk to. It is not an organized religion like Christianity, Islam, etc.Some Wiccans do hold a ceremony to become a Wiccan, but not many from my experience.Some Wiccans do believe in a god or gods, but there is a lot of variety as to which gods they worship.

They do not practice spells with the intention to harm people. They deny that there are moral absolutes, believe that nature is divine, and seek to be in harmony with the earth/nature.
