Witchcraft is NOT a religion. There have been Christian witches, atheist witches, etc. There are religions who commonly are known to practice witchcraft, but a few-such as myself- follow the path as a religion and a lifestyle and do not do any witchcraft at all. These religions are diverse. Some are duotheistic, some are pantheistic, and some are polytheistic. Some people are even monotheistic. So, to explain the concept of God or Gods would be as diverse as listing any Christian denominations. Witchcraft is not just Wicca either, though certainly some Wiccans do practice witchcraft. It is nothing like Charmed, and that sounds like where you got all your ideas.

Witchcraft is magical practices that have nothing to do with ANY religion. Most commonly the practice of magic and spellcasting, but also includes a variety of holistic healing practices (energy healing, herbal health & healing, etc.), divination, and other occult studies and practice. "Occult" simply means beyond the range of ordinary knowledge; mysterious. To be a witch, all one needs to do is study and practice the art of witchcraft. There are witches in many different religions, and witches that don't follow any one religion. Witchcraft is not a religion. Wicca is, which utilizes witchcraft. Many witches do believe in a God (or Gods) as well as Goddess(es). Who they honor, is dependant upon the individual. I don't blame you about Wikipedia. I don't like it because I don't believe it's reliable. Anything that allows anyone to edit the information is subject to misinformation, and can cause confusion.
