That's what I've been having trouble with trying to explain to people...
Even those in the magick community think we're all just fantasizing freaks...it shocked me. (Thus my vampire rights thread).

Calm yourself, we want people to think these things - For the secrecy of vampires is no accident. - Be patient.

Too late. I've already been interviewed by City on a Hill press. They already have my version of vampirism spelled out for them in a perfectly clear manner. A full page worth of definition.

I agree with Phoenix. I'm sick of people thinking we're crazy. Secrecy means nothing these days. No one cares. I've sent complaints as well.

secrecy means nothing? if secrecy meant nothing the vampires would no longer exist, if it wasn't for keeping ourselves a secret, we would have been hunted to extinction by now.

That's a good point...but it doesn't stop people from hunting us...they just go after people who seem to be vampires, even if there's no proof...and it's not even real hunters who are going after us anymore, it's gangs of idiotic teens who are singling out anyone different, to bash in their heads.

What does secrecy mean these days? In the old days yeah I can understand hiding, but think about it. There are worse things these days than being a vampire. People barely give us a second glance. Most of them are like that anyway, and the ones who actually hunt us usually get humans instead. We don't fit their stupid descriptions of what a vampire is. They no longer know us. People don't care about vampires anymore. The days of us being known to exist has long faded and in this modern time where nearly everything is accepted, why does it matter?

*Applauds Misfit*
This is something that's been nothering me for a while. Years ago, I tried to bring up the issue of secrecy, and all the vamps I spoke to said it was better to keep quiet, to hide what they were, to pretend to be nice little "normal" soccer moms, etc. I felt so disgusted, I stopped talking to them. (That was four years ago).
It's hard enough to live in a world where you are different, it's harder still to do so and try to hide who you are (in essence, lying to yourself, trying to be "normal").
