Could it be a cover up?
Supposedly, the new wine winery called Vampire Vineyards is a cover up. The CEO of it is an attorney who has worked with clients that are deemed on the dark side, and this new winery is maybe a cover up for the nocturnal happenings there. Have a look at http://www.vampire.com/files/vampire_news.php

Well, just so long as the red stuff in the bottles really is wine, I guess it doesn't matter too much who makes it. The central California coast is a bit weird at the best of times, so I'm sure the vampires will fit right in.

RE: Could it be a cover up?
I think that real vampires would want to hide their existence in order to survive the defensive technology of modern mankind. They would likely commission masses of works of vampire fiction which are close to, but not quite, the truth about themselves. Humans who then discovered vampires' existence would be discredited as paranoid fantasists, who were building elabourate delusions around, say The Real World of Nancy A Collins, or Buffy. You’d get someone like The Men In Black going round to intimidate or remove witnesses until the media and the entertainments industry who are in their thrall can produce fictionalized accounts of vampire plotting,
I’m having some fun playing about with the idea in my blog http://dearvladab.blogspot.com/search/label/recycling
(end of gratuitous self-promotion.)
Meanwhile, these people seem to have a sense of history and literature that I appreciate.
