Changing
Warmth of spring comes to the month of may. But it will be those who will push me away. Torches burn with flaming fire. Angry shouts of their desire.
Into the dark woods I hide. Voices of family and friend that use to be by my side. The growth of summer has come. I fear the village that I was once from.
Behind a bush I quietly stand. Tensely I can smell the sweet land. As thought with different eyes I watch their torches slowly die.
I walk to a place I call home. A place I can rome. What is this change that I feel. A soul that will need to heal. Into the night I’m able to peer. Even small heart beats of creatures I’m able to hear. To the steps of my front door. I know I walk but on all four. I walk down a long hall. Pictures and colors of the beauty of fall.
I walk into the safety of my bedroom. With the sweet sent of my perfume. On the pillow I lay my head. I see a image in the mirror by my bed. I gasp with a growling purr. I can now see my shining black fur. Now I know what it was that they fear. Slowly from my panther eyes runs a tear. I know this is my fate. Here is a promise that I will create.
You may shun me, but it will be us who will protect thee.
From the magic I will grow. The lessons that I learn I’ll show.
From the fire I will walk.
Through the whisper of the winds I will talk.
From the earthly land I will rise.
The lesson of water will make me wise.
Your trust I may not yet earn but these are the lessons I must learn.
I look into the window to see winter ice has form. I know that soon a new life will be born.
