this is the kind of shifting mentioned also in romanian legends about strigoi, which is the corespondent of the vampire in romanian mythology.
Romanian folklorists mention living strigoi ,the one who is living in daylight doing his business like all the other people while at night ,as soon as his body sleeps ,his soul exits his body and goes to meet other strigoi, while the body remains like dead on the bed .
They say these strigoi souls make killings and distroy the fields but in my oppininon this belief about the cruel deeds could very well be wrong because of the natural fear of humans in front of unknown forces, i think there are natural ,normal deeds , and only cruel while attacked by humans or by the other strigoi .
At least this is how it is for me , during the night i have many fights and i do often kill but only when i'm attaked. But not necessary , two nights ago i let two subhumans come while i was laying on my bed (as i told you i sleep with my hands on my chest like a dead ) , i knew they were there since they were outside and i knew their intentions ,but i was very exhausted , and i had no reaction even if they were carying a knife and stuck it into my chest .
I am very exhausted these days because of too much heat.

This duality you can find also in egyptian myths and after all that i experienced myself this is the one I trust .
In egyptian beliefs .there is Ka , which is what we call soul , and the body ,and those two cannot be one without another , meaning Ka needs a body , and i think it feeds through this body , in different ways , and also the body receives back from the ka , this is how the body looks younger , or , to say it more accurate -ageless.

While in human form it's not possible. With my I've never pay much attention on how to tell. I do know that I'm not a lycan but I am able to send thy energy out as hellen speaks of. It's can be very draining and leaves the body weak.

Okay, in today's terminology, let me explain the differences I've noticed between a lycan and otherkin.

A lycan in a human who can shift, whether into a full wolf or a wolf/man beast thing, I don't know. This is the most fabled about and most rarely openly discussed if one belongs to this group.

Otherkin spiritual shifters are referred to as therians. I, myself, am a therian wolf, I can mentally and spiritually shift into a wolf. Mentally, I take on more aggressive and territorial nature, growling if someone touches me other than my mate or sister-in-law, and I generally act like a wolf. In spirit, I take on the form of a dark-grey timber-wolf with a black V going down my back. I am very alphic and dominant.

I am also a dragon in spirit. I believe I've written in one of the threads, I think the Meditation for Unsteady Minds thread, about my awakening and my dragon side. My dragon form, spiritually, is equivilant to being over 20-30 stories tall and as wide as a city block. Dragons are one of the most powerful races of beings, energetically, spiritually, and magickally. A dragon's blood alone has magickal properties.

Lycans, as I said, lycans are rarely discussed because in most communities they are not believed to exist, same as immortal vampires. HLVs are willing to believe in their own existence, yet they are still HUMAN living vampires, and they are limited to what science and tell them to be true. There are some groups out there, of course, that support these claims to lycanthrope and immortal vampirism, yet they are few and far between when compared to how many people bash and disclaim them.

but what about were-leopards. I've met a few and they are big! like a size of a baby hoarse. but they are so pretty, it neat to see one like a clouded leopard.
