i would agree with Draven. i was in the middle of my martial arts training when i awakened. even though there is a lot of contact with others and the energy is high, it teaches you a great deal of self control mentally and physically. i have benefited greatly from my martial arts training.

well, i'm not sure i fully understand what you're asking, but i will try to answer how i took what you asked lol. if you mean, are there more benefits outside of the arts and meditation, i'm most certain there are. but i am no expert in what they are or how to acheive them lol. if you mean, are there more benefits that come with the arts and meditation, then i can say there are many. i have become much stronger and faster physically and mentally. i can very well defend myself and others. i have prospered in competition fighting. and i have even been trained in weapons (bo/staff, nunchucks, bokken, escrima sticks, knives, and even guns), which always comes in handy. there is so much more, but it's much better seen through experience. the simple words spoken from another's lips do not give justice.
hope this is what you were looking for lol. if not, then i'm sorry.

Martial arts, mainly the more traditional ones such as kung fu, concentrate on what the Chinese call wai dan or external elixir. In our terms that means channelling your body's energies out through your limbs to enhance their performance in a variety of ways. Then after reaching a certain point in the training switch to studying nei dan or internal elixir, which improves health and promotes longetivity. Styles such as Taijiquan study these in reverse order. (Sorry, I went a little further into that than was needed) Martial arts, at the deeper levels, use the movements to focus their energies. Meditation on the other hand is simply a method of mental focus. Using only you mind to manipulate the energies. To answer your question Bex, martial arts and meditation are merely methods of focus. Other people around the globe may use other methods of focus such as dancing to focus. Hell, I've even accomplished some rather impressive revelations about my spiritual self doing something repetitive and mundane as mowing the yard. So whatever you can think of that helps you focus in some way or another, will help in some way with your awakening.

Pardon me if I sound wierd but I can feel you right now Bex. The physical excitment you feel during you classes makes you feel different if I am correct now that you feel like your awakening. Physical activity helps stimulate the mind and is a great way of coping with an awakening as most of the time your mind is focused. Besides the techniques you do now I would advise art or writing. Just dit dawn and draw a sketch or write a short story and you will find that you will begin to feel the world around you and it will open your mind. Sorry for the lengthy post.

I'm no doctor, or a vampire. But I think you should go to the local butcher research a dish that requires blood to make. And request some animal blood. That or you should only drink just a little of your blood. As a volunteer I helped draw peoples blood, then I learned about it. Trust me asking a butcher for blood is much better than having to deal with the effects of blood loss.
