That is correct Corkn certian events or time preiods will usually trigger these awakenings. Awakenings though can be forced though I highly advise against forcing an awakening, but as Tobias has mentioned it is not healthy. An awkening is merely another part of your soul being added to your Earth bound body for you to use. I'm sorry if my words are scattered, my mind is elsewhere right now.

Umm.. is there something you can do if you want to be awakened? Or is it just a few like "chosen ones" who can be awaken?

Only those that have another part of them that isn't present then they will awaken, most vampires awaken, though there are some that I have heard off that were born into there vampiric state.

Here is my question: An awakening happen just because it happens? People can wake up one day just being a vampire? Because it seems that the people who are having this "awakening" does not know, it not supposed to happen when another vampire transformed you or something and then you go through this awakening and then you are a vampire? Or maybe Im confuse with the term.

In human living vampiric terms, Awakening means simply a coming to awareness of something that is inherently already within you. This is not an official term, yet it is something we use in teh Vampire Community to denote the change from being mundane to being something else, whether it be vampire or otherkin. You may be thinking of the traditional "turning" that most people see on TV or movies. This would be the changing of a person into a vamipre by another vampire, whether it be by biting and passing on a "virus" or whether it be some dark ritual. Would I be correct in assuming this?
Either way, I hope this helps you understand a little better. If not, let me know what's on your mind and I'll do my best to solve it for you, ^_^

Bex, everyone who has an alternate side to themselves to awaken to can awake to it, unless something is preventing it specifically. Someone could bind an awakening, or damage to the spirit could also prevent an awakening. There are many things that could cause this, but those are just a few examples.

I guess then the answer is: Yes. One day you can just wake up to realize that you are vampire. Ummm....Im more confused now. How can you hide or lock what you are? How can a person not know if they are a vampire and suddenly realize it?

Yes, you can speed up an awakening, or for those who know how you can help someone to begin an awakening, but it only works if the nature that is being awakened is present in that person. You can't awaken something that is not there.
Also, my suggestion is not to try and force or speed up an awakening. I tried to force my dragon awakening and wound up having a seizure for about 30 minutes, all because I pushed myself into something my mind and body weren't ready to deal with. My brother used to get migranes and seizures constantly because he awakened into multiple instances of things at nearly the same time and it caused an overload in him. Do you understand?
With that said, I suggest you wait for the awaken, whatever it may be, to begin on its own. Don't force it. If you'd like any more information, please don't hesitate to ask.
