i so dont wanna be mortal im tired of it -drowls and bears my pitifully human fangs- thats what im doing at the computer screen

If you believe that's all there is. I've toyed with the idea of immortality - not that I can change it, but I've wondered about living hundreds of years and watching so many "mortals" die so I never really have long with anyone, unless lots of my closest loved ones were immortal.
I personally believe we are immortal spiritually but not physically, at least at this time. In the future, who knows?
There have been times in our history when people only lived on average to mid 30s or maybe 40s and if you were lucky to hit 50 you were ancient. that was in hunter gatherer times when life was hard. Other times as now it wasn't uncommon to reach 80, 90, or even 100. Some cultures believe ancient humans lived into their hundreds all the time. Concepts of immortality may also be based on human lifespans which were not always the same as they are today.
