Default Teen Vampirism

Just thinking about how awakening was in school is a scary thought. I remember, not knowing what was going on with me, being tired all the time, confused, depressed, the fact that sun hurt, and people are terrible. School can be a though time for all especially awakening vampires.
I thought I might write up something special for those vampires just trying to deal with school in a socially unacceptable world or fads and fashion. Here are the basics for being a Vampire in School.

Sunlight:
As horrible as it may be sunlight is probably the hardest to deal with when first awakening, especially when one only wants to sleep all day. If your lucky to have an all indoor school then this wont count so much for you, but if your an unlucky vampire as I was, with in all outdoor school then this is for you.
Try to wear/ adopt a clothing style that consists of an over shirt. tThat way in the sunlight you can put the shirt on and when you get into class if the classroom is warm (I know the teachers are all 80 years old with menopause and such so the air conditioner is blasting all day, with no remorse for students) you'll be able to simply take it off. If not then just wear sleeves all day and roll them up when your inside. Also while outside wear sunglasses as much as possible, it will make things a bit more easier. And for God's Sakes DONT lose or let someone "borrow" your glasses, you wont be able to see and you probably won't ever get them back.

Sunglasses/Floresent Light:
This may not be as much an issue for vampires, however I know it has some effect on a few vampires out there. For me this was a problem, however I was lucky enough to have teachers that used an overhead projector more than toilet paper though so it wasn't much a problem. If your an unlucky soul who has to deal with the bright lights, here are some tips for you.
In the (sometimes nonexistent) "School Handbook" under section, "No wearing sunglasses or hats indoors" it is easy to see why florescent lighting can't be blocked out at times. Sometimes this can be fixed but, DONT WAIT Until five months after school has started to tell you teacher that, "you are photosensitive to light, and may need to wear sunglasses indoors at time". Most teachers are pretty cool about this and don't mind it at all as long as your not Sleeping during class, if you begin to do this and it shows us in your grades you may be revoked of your sunglasses privileges. I do know that sometimes teachers can be A** H**** and will ask for a doctors or parent) note to find out for sure if you are photosensitive. If this occurs, and your parents don't know what you are it's sometimes a good thing to drop it. If you can get a doctors (or parent) note then thats great more power to you.

Peer Pressure:
Even more so than anything else about school if your an awakening vampire, you will be tempted more often than not to blowup in someones face or confide in a friend about your vampirism. Sad as this may sound, this is when those odd wiccan/goth kids do understand. It's better to have one friend then none in your time of need but this doesn't mean you have to gloat about it or shove their nose in it.
Their is no easy way to tell someone what you are, but you can hint about it, and ask if they are into the occult. This is one of the better ways to find out how open minded a person can be. Trust your instincts, they can be good. If you really feel you must tell someone be sure you can completely confide in them or don't tell them at all. Don't Ever Blow up on someone telling them, "I'm A DAMNED VAMPIRE I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT!!!", because this wont do anything but start rumors and cause people to pick on you. Fortunately for myself no one ever picked on me because I approached it a good/acceptible way and dropped it shortly after, does it mean they forgot? of course not they asked me questions everyonce in a while and I answered them (if you are going to do this learn all you can about vampirism). If someone ever picks on you, or that friend you confided in told someone what you told them. Then go to the office and see someone about it. Tell someone with authority,"that they got some crazy Idea in their head and they think your a vampire" because it's probably not the best idea that you have to explain that you are.

Tiredness/Fatigue:
Being a vampire doesn't give you permission to sleep during class or be cranky to anyone. If someone is worried about you it probably means they care (and are a good true friend). If you have to do what I did in times of extreme tiredness/fatigue.
After school it's always best to get whatever chores you have at home and homework done before, then go take a nap. It doesn't have to be a long one, just a cat nap... trust me Starbucks Coffee isn't always going to be there or help for that matter. Just take a nap get up, do some more stuff and then go to bed for the night. Don't try and stay up till the a** crack of dawn cause nothing can help that. At least try and pace yourself and set a bedtime for yourself. Being a vampire mean being responsible, as difficult as it may sound. Meditate every other night or so and learn how and in what matter you need to feed in, once you learn that life only get easier.

Funny, reminds me of when I suddenlybegan losing my dark skin color and couldn't take the sun, I started wearing hoodies more often (before it was out of self-image, but once the sun started burning I wore a hoody nearly every day).
Unfortunately I was in school in phoenix arizona, so the heat did not help my tiredness a bit, but I was glad that my skin wasn't hurting anymore. Ah, memories.

I went through my awakening earlier this year. I'm almost 16 now. I had no idea what was going on. I was always cold, tired, and depressed. I had a craving for something, but I didn't know what. I was often dehydrated and suffered from dizziness and black-outs. I went to the docter and he run a lot of tests, but everything came out clean. Then in school one day, some kid cut his hand and there was blood everyone. I almost attacked him, but luckily, my friend Brittney saw I was having problems and made me leave the room with her. Then she asked me why I was acting the way I was, and I told her that I wanted his blood. She kinda laughed, and started explaining that I was a Sang. She's one too, so I have someone to talk about this kind of thing with at least.

I am not shure of my awakening is still going on or not.... I am 16 and have been having trouble in school, here in Delaware it is very cold and cloudy all of the time so that is not a problem for me normally..... On days that it is sunny i will normally just feel exhausted and just fall into a deep sleep until it is dark... EX: 7:30 ish. Durring my awakening i felt depressed all of the time and i have mostly gotten over that and then the sun started to bother me, even though i love the beaches in south america, but my cravings have gotten worse... I almost told my freind that i am a vamp, but he would think i am carzy just like every one else... No body understands what it is like... I havn't come face to face with anyone atleast....... The sun only bothers me but i kind of have a glitter in the sun. My best time is Twilight

You will one day come face to face with someone else who is a vampire in delaware, and if your friend is in the same stuff as you I'm sure that they will understand. Just talk to them about it and see what they say but don't say everything just tell them what's been going on, they are probably worried about you or something.
