Do any of you suffer from any forms of Sensitivity? Such as light, crosses and so forth if so please share with the board!

to a degree i think some of us do have a bit of light sensitivity, i know the sunlight does bother me sometimes. its kinda wierd.. like im an athiest, i honestly believe there is no god, but when i walk into a church i panic... i honestly start freaking out and i need to leave. crosses not so much... they just disgust me at the thought of someone wearing a statue of a dead guy around their necks, or the fact that romans use to use crosses at torture devices, the act of being crucified actually killed the person by suffocation, the body being crushed by its own weight as it hung there... or at least thats what ive read. beyond that.. i personally cant stand garlic, it makes me break out on my tongue.. but it dosent make me choke.. holy water dosent burn me, i can handle a cross fine and i dont turn to ash in the sunlight. the lines of fact and fiction has been blurred so much, some people really believe that those icons can protect them. there is a store in fact, a block down the street from a place i just moved out of a few weeks back, they had strings of garlic hanging over their doors... kinda freaked me out... i swear i wasnt in there for a snack *laughs*

Sunlight bothers me a lot. And high temperature. I feel like I'm going to burst! I think it just takes our energy away.
Oh, silver. I can't wear it on myself.

silver really hasnt ever gotten to me.. just all that christianity freaks me out. i dunno why, something below the skin... in my mind i know there is no god.. or i think i do.. but for some reason my senses still tingle and i feel afraid and nautious when im around a church, or someone is talking to me about god...

Sunlight bothers my eyes badly, more so than normal people. Sunglasses dont even work. I dislike the cold with a passion, cheap silver burns my skin, leaving red marks behind- sometimes welt like. Churches are whatever to me. They dont bother me unless they are filled with a bunch of Christian fundamentalists. I do however happen to enjoy Cathedrals. They're beautiful to photograph. God..Hmm...I can debate him all day, till Im blue in the face. God is an interesting topic.

lol i like your views sophia, i would love to talk with you more... i know the feeling though about the churches... as much as they creep me out.. even more so when its filled with sheep who are condeming me to "hell"

sencitivity... another interesting thread to talk about it... hum what i am or not sencitive...
well, i do not think that i have much problems of sencitivity...
i love silver things, almost my things(if they are in metal) are in silver, i do not know why, but it makes me feel confiant and powerfull, my vamp friends say that i am strange, because they hate silver(some of them), and i just don not know why...
garlic, well that one, i do not like it, because it is very intense for my taste, and makes me vomit (sometimes) and makes me feel sick for the rest of the day...
churches and crusses, do not make me feel bad or afraid but i prefeer to stay away from(here in portugal there are hunter-prices(exorcists), that love to hunt us and other creatures like us, so i have a reason)...
sunlight, hum *no words* i won't say that if sunlight touch my skin i will be transform in ash, because that's only a Hollywood myth, but i can say that sunlight is not my fave thing to get on my skin(i prefeer moonlight), and my eyes. And like Sophia, have sunglasses not always work as we want it to...

For me, I only have a sensitivity to sunlight. If I am out in the sun for long periods my skin becomes irritated and red. Silver, not a problem. Crosses, I'm a Christian. Though not one of "the sheep going to hell." lol I personally believe that most of these are phobias. Besides sunlight, I don't really think that crosses, churches, silver, (unless there is a biological averion or allergic reaction) etc. pose a real problem for vampires.

I think none of this really relates to vampirism. I just think people are so stuck on the hollywood idea of vampire, and wanting to have some proof, for themselves, that they are a vampire.

Sunlight-
It does bother, quite a bit. But, obviously by all of the previous posts, it bothers a lot of people. I also know alot of people who arent vampires that cant handle the sun.

Silver-
Its just silver, a metal. I dont know why i would have a problem. I am however allergic to the metal nickel(can be found in almost everything like the buttons on your pants, safety pins, belt buckles, non silver or gold jewelry).


Religion related things-
Churches dont bother me. Its a man made building.
Crosses dont bother either. I guess they might if they were made out of nickel. xD

i can't deal with direct sunlight very much. if i'm in a car and it's bouncing off of a mirror or some other medium, it doesn't bother me quite as much, but it still irriates me.

silver doesn't bother me at all.

but i do flinch everytime someone is having a serious discussion about god or the bible...
