RE: how long do Sanguine live
Wray, I can see what you're saying that we seem to age slower. But we still have the same life span. True, some of our bodies appear younger, I know for certain that mine does. And I really hate it. But it isn't necissarily true towards all vampires, and may sometimes be true for "normal" humans.
I also agree that most of us do not get sick as often as "normal" humans. I used to get sick all the time when I was younger, but since Awakening, I've only been sick one, and it was just a mild cold.
Also, on the subject of empathy, this too I agree on. I have always been quite in tune with other's emotions and have a great ability in being able to tell when something is wrong or someone is lying. I've also learned to trust myself when I get feelings about something.

How about this... both of you are right. I mean, in reality, no two vampires are completely alike. We all have different effects and things like that. I still would have to agree with you though Wray, but Im not saying anyone else is wrong. My opinions just match yours. But because nothing about us is 100% acurate and the same, we can't really say who is wrong and who is right....

RE: how long do Sanguine live
Honestly, I think it may be due to our lifestyle. The majority of vampires tend to avoid staying out in the sun for any length of time, for whatever reason they may have. Have you ever noticed how someone who has spent virtually all their life hanging out in the sun tends to looked aged sooner in their life? The sun damages our skin, even if it's barely noticable, but given enough passage of time, it does have it's effects. I haven't proven it, but hey, it's a theory.

It's not a theory actually, it's reality. When you spend more time in the sun, your skin will age sooner than most people. I believe it has something to do with the sun drying out your skin, but I'm not sure. In the Netherlands they had a whole tv special on the subject not too long ago...

Yeah, you wouldn't believe how they theorize a person can increase their life span. Starvation. Yup, supposedly if you keep yourself in a semi-starved state, in other words still eat but very little, your body will go into a survival mode, slow down the metabolism rate, make better use of what nutrients it has (functioning more efficiently), and possibly even half the rate of cell reproduction (thus the increase in age potential). The scientist that figured this out tested it on lab rats, which doubled their lifespan. Now he's trying it out on himself. I'm sure there are downsides to this though. For instance, you'll be in terrible physical condition, more susceptable to disease, heal from injuries at a much slower rate, and you'll probably be miserable for the rest of your life. But hey, you get to live longer.

RE: how long do Sanguine live
No one knows how long they are going to live in life, my aunt was told 3 times while she had cancer that she had 5 months to live and she outlived those due dates but eventually passed away. Life is unpredictable no matter what we are, who we are, or what is in our blood.
I think it's interesting that fictional writers of the society make it seem that vampires live longer and immortal and there for are very bored of their existance. It just adds flavor so that the readers can enjoy their reading experience. Who would want to read about a vampire died of old age or got shot once and died?
In a nutshell, vampires can live as long as any human. They just need to take care of themselves until their organs can no longer support them or until they can no longer have control of their own body.
