why can people understand a vampire bat? Science and all, but when it comes to me being a Sang, I must be mental?

I was speaking to a friend of a friend who told me flat out vampires didn't exist... I couldn't help, but want to tear him apart for that. I guess it's for the best because 90% of the world isn't ready to understand our existence?

Chill Azura_Adella_Seryn. Not everyone is open to our life and world. We must be tolerant of the ignorant. And I don't mean that in a insulting way but just stating fact. You friend is ignorant of us and our kind and chooses to be. That's ok. I'm not open about myself to most people anyway. It might be best most mortals remain ignorant. Vampire bats don't have a physical need for blood, they only use it as a food-source. When I want food, I walk to the store. Finding someone to bite would be far too much effort.

If people can freak out over a radio faking an alien invasion, then who would want to believe in vampires?

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I am a Witch, and whenever I tell people I am a Witch, half of them will say, "Eww, I thought Witches were evil." And the other half will come right out and say those other dreaded words, " Witches don't exsist." And I'm like, "OH GREAT MOTHER GODDESS. Why are there still SOOOOOOO MANY unenlightened people out there. I thought this was the enlightened age."

Lighten I think youmean bats have a physical need for blood for sustenence while vampires need it to be healthy but we wont die from not having it. According to the Black Veil we need to keep our society out of the spotlight for what one does effects us all.

Okay, I don't WANT to care about others think, but to be told you don't exist makes you want to prove to them in the worst way that I do. I mean, I've got my pride! Also, I did NOT show to him what a very angry vampiress can do so I am pretty calm.

Thus the curse of the modern day vampire. Its ironic how at first people believed in us and wanted us dead and all we wanted was to be left alone but now our geneations are asking for acknowledgment from a skepitcal world. It almost make me laugh.
