for me, I simply became aware of what I did naturally, which was draw in energy, then eventually came the blood lusts and with that the need to seek out a donor. For me, it is simply a matter of feeling out whether not a person would be willing to listen. What you should work at telling them is that the reason you are vampiric is because, as scientists know, the body produces energy. This has been documented through Krillian (I think that's the right name) photography. A lot of vampires are simply those whose bodies don't produce enough energy to sustain themselves and they are required to take in extra energy, and the best way to do this is through blood, which has a very high consentrated blood content within it. This is the best explaination, even if you aren't needing blood for the energy and you explain your vampirism differently. It gives them something somewhat scientific to look and they don't automatically freak on you when you tell them you're a vampire, lol.
