Well, the theory behind that is that there is a virus within an immortal vampire that is transmitted through the saliva or other bodily fluids which breaks down and converts the genetic structure of the human body and converts their DNA into something different, into a vampiric state which makes them different than humans. This gives them a different function of life, therefore they don't have the same needs as humans to sustain them. Some theorize that it is necessary to drain most of the blood from someone who is being "turned" and have them drink most of the Vampire's blood (a full blood exchange) in order to do two things: 1, weaken the human's immune system so their bodies can't fight off the vampiric "virus," 2, taking in the blood trasmits a large amount of the vampiric virus. That's where the theory of biting to turn comes into play. It is one of the more common ways vampires turn others; other ways are through ritual, magickal practices, or spiritual alterations, plus many other ways as well.

This is what I can tell you when it comes to turning. It is only my opinion. There are so many different kinds of vampires in the world to day. But for the one that I know best would be a sang. For that is what I am. I am a sang that had been turned by thy sire and love.
Over the years it has come to our knowing that there is a good possible chance that, in a way a vampire is born but yet not born as a vampire persay. Born like a mortal but they have a dorment gene. When another vampire bites, as my dear friend Tobias says, the one he/she has chosen the saliva or the blood. But this virus, if you want to call it that, must engage with the mortals blood.
When it does then it slowly transforms that mortals blood, by activating the dorment gene, into a vampire. There could be thousand upon thousand who have this dorment gene but never get changed through a bite of another vampire.

One would not know if they had this gene but an old enough vampire can sense it. If there are any quetions pls do ask and I'll try my best. I'm trying to put all that I can think of but it looks as though this is my off week. lol

Aye, it would be best for masters to perform these "embracings," but it can be done by those less accomplished, but it is not suggested. It could bring harm to the one being embraced and could have complications from then on. And yes, Lady Alex, there is also the "gene" theory. It is similar to the Beacon for energy vampires, that latent energy signature that helps us to sense our kind nearby. This also manifests stronger when we awakening by someone's awakened vampiric energy interacting with the latent vamipre. In this case, an immortal vampire's blood or saliva could interact with a person's blood and cause a genetic reaction, "awakening" this genetic trait in that person and changing them. Sorry if this sounds a bit skattered, my mind isn't running on all four cilinders, lol.

The process of becoming a vampire via a bite, is very painful it can take days, and if your spirit is not strong enough you will most certainly die. I myself was turned, it is a most trying experience. Be careful what you wish for as the modern saying goes.
