Hitler had lost the war because he was a politician and not a strategist, and he never listened to the brilliant Wehrmacht generals, moreover, many of them he had imprisoned or executed. Germany and the allies fought the war on too many fronts simultaneously. If all the military power had been concentrated on the Eastern front, the Russians could have never won. By the way, when the Germans entered the Soviet Union, in many villages people welcomed them as ones who will liberate them from the bolshevik terror and oppression. As for America's role in the war, "money" is the only thing I can think of.

Good point Vaj operation Sea Lion was cancelled before the US joined. Hitler was not a good strategist as mention.
Better question is how would WWII have played out had Hitler not turned on Stalin?

If Hitler had not started the war, the Russians would have done it for sure. Hitler and Stalin even made a secret pact about attacking Poland together.

I think the person above you meant: "a better question would have been, what had happened if hitler did not attack stalin after the splitting of poland".

Good question, but since Russia was the main target to get more "Lebensraum" for aryan nations, it is purely fictional. A bit more realistic possibility would have been attacking Russia first, and when it is defeated, then the Germans and their allies could have direct their attention to the rest.

Yeah maybe, but since going through poland is important to get to Russia, england and france would have declared war at the sime time as they did. It was important to deal with the western countries first, and then attack Russian, just like Germany did.
