It is possible. I am sort of a cannibal, but I do not have any special abilities from that. Drinking blood messes some things up, but I have not experienced any extreme abilities from that either.
Scientists have learned that those whose ancestors, thousands of years ago, participated in cannibalistic practices are more immune to several diseases. That could partially explain it.
