Love and hate are very strong emotions. A fine line, as others have said, exist between the two.
Love is the most amazing feeling in the world...yet at the same time it can be the most painful feeling in the world too. As others have stated, when you love someone so much that it hurts being away from them (I know that feeling all too well...when Lita is away I hurt inside -- and I miss her so much.). When you love someone but they don't love you, I've been there too. And that is painful. When you want to hate them because they did something to you, but in your heart you know that you can't because you love them too much to ever hate them for anything they do to you. When someone you love dies, that is pain...because you cared for them; or even when a pet dies and you grieve over them...that is love and pain all in one. Seeing a child smile, hearing them laugh...and knowing that when they are crying because they are hurting physically or emotionally and knowing that there are times when you just can't do anything to ease that pain and hurt -- that is pain because you love them.
Hate is a deep seated emotion... It is the opposite of love. It is everything that love is not. Everyone needs to feel their emotions, but you should not let them rule your life either. Too much of anything no matter how good it is, is a bad thing.
