Yeah I would say they exist. Quite a few of my friends are Lycans. I couldn't tell you a whole lot but I could say that they aren't a whole lot like the ones in the movies.

I'm something akin to a hybrid myself. I'm a psychic vampire, a therianthrope, and I'm draconic. I know you're probably a bit confused so here's a rundown.

Therianthorpe is a classification that Lycanthropes fall into. I'm assuming you know that lycanthropes are werewolves. Just as Lycanthrope translates into wolf-man, therianthrope translates into animal-man. My therianthropic side happens to be a white tiger (I'm thinking syberian for the actual breed, but I'm not sure). Draconic means that I am also a dragon. I know that all sounds confusing, but the underlying principle for what makes a person these things allows for there to be more than one kind. When a person who's an animal or otherworldly creature in a past life reincarnates as a human, the spirit may not make a full transition, or any for that matter, into human form. This leaves the individual trapped in a human body, but with the spirit of the creature that he/she used to be. Their spirit can be fully one creature from a past life or may retain a few characteristics of several past lives that combine into a sort of collage, which seams to be my case. Anyways, it is common for otherkin (a term used for anyone whose spirit is not entirely human, whereas therianthrope is strictly that of an animal that is still in physical existence), to use the same amount of energy that they did in their past life, while only producing enough energy to support their human form. This causes the individual to become vampiric, as they will have to obtain the rest of the energy they need to make up for the slack from outside sources. Note that this is not the only way to become a psychic vampire, and is not usually the case for why someone is a vampire. Lack of energy, yes, otherkin with an energy overconsumption, no.

Therianthropes don't physically transform. It is a purely spiritual transformation. Though the effect might make you think they were possessed or something akin to that. Radical change of personality and/or mood and definite increase in physical capabilities; strength, speed, and senses.

Let me take the time to clear up for you that therianthropes fall under the category of otherkin, and lycanthropes fall under the category of therianthrope. Otherkin is just a fancy word for any person with a spirit that is not human. Therefore my being draconic, therianthropic, and even vampiric makes me otherkin. Some debate on whether or not vampires should be considered otherkin or not, but I don't know for certain. Anyways, back to the question at hand....

Sympathetic vampires (it's not really relevant to the question, but since I mentioned it I might as well explain it) are people who have been drained of energy to the point where they must resort to vampiric feeding in order to regain their lost energy. Until their energy is regained they can and often do exhibit all the signs of being a vampire. A walk-in is where a non-human spirit visits and bonds with you, sharing with you it's mannerisms and abilities. This essentially mimics the symptoms of being otherkin of whatever variety the spirit happens to be, and will last for as long as the spirit chooses to remain with you.
