I have yet to find any evidence at all that supports that physical shape shifting is real, and shape shifting on a spiritual level is not the same as actually being otherkin. It may be very similar, but it is not the same. You would have the change of spiritual form but the the character and spirit that comes with it. You would still be you, just in another form.

As Pheonix said, it is possible to shape-shift spiritually, but that is different than being a lycan (or other-kin). It is a matter of astral projecting and transforming your spirit to take on the shape of an animal.

I met a guy that claimed to be a lycanthropy expert. Through I met another guy that claimed to be a werewolf. He told me it's not like in the movies and books where he gets all scary and morphs into a hair beast with terrible teeth and craves blood. At that point I asked him to define lycanthropy. He said it was just when you associate with the wolves and you feel like your everyday life is influenced by how they work. I asked if he howled at the moon. He said yes. I asked why. He was speechless. Howling at the moon is just something you do when you're a wolf, right? I just can't find a source that makes sense to prove these people exist.

im interested in this... if there are real shape shifters wouldnt there biological blood culutre be similar to that of a vampire?
i have some literature that talks about how the two split from one being... or one source as you will..

Now the real debate.. i red plenty of books on this topic and have research similarly on the internet... the classic tales in Europe of shapeshifting Lycanthropes dont happen that often anymore, this may be due to the eliminatio of the species or a common misconseption on part by the villagers of that era...
i have some literature that talks about enchanted pelt.. or cursed pelts where once someone wears it they take the form odf that animal for a period of time... the problem is that unless they continue to shift forms they will die or go insane... witches in Germany and Slavic regions where said to trick villagers into wearing these pelts and becoming slaves...

any help on this?

I think lycans are real. Look at The Beast Of Bray Road. I am not saying that that IS a lycan, but many people believe it is.
