Animals are only considered different species if they can't mate and produce babies, sort of like the Highlander. And, seeing as how they can, they're the same species. For another species to form, you need to have an open niche for a species to fit into. Seeing as how vampires live exactly the same as humans, I don't think that it's the next 'step' in evolution.
Don't use shakey science to back up vampires, which aren't even scientifically proven.

Jesus_backwards is correct. We are all of those things. We enjoy, cry, love, hate, become angery and many more emotions as mortals do. Those who have no kind of emotion are even considered to have a soul. So, it is actually what you want to believe and all.
