The only god that I seem to follow is the dollar. It defines what I can and cannot have. It provides security and brings me food, granted if I can perform the ritual of "buying". High-priests of this god demand that I work in the temple so that way I am contributing to the institution as whole. I don't think that's real. I just called up my Grandma and she says she didn't remember anything like that happening (and I like in the southeast of England, so..) and my Mum doesn't remember anything either. Creative, yes, but true? I doubt it. However, I'll be stocking up on my "nuclear energy" just incase (;

EDIT: Also, it all seems a little stereotypical. And i'm pretty sure there would have been a media frenzy if something like an alien invasion was imminent. And seeming as it supposedly happened around the place I live, I've never heard anything about it up until this evening.
