While I ADORE Lestat and friends, I felt like this was the first real (in my interpretation), *serious* vampire film in a while. I think it hasn't been since old "Nosferatu" by Murneau that the bloodsucker is treated in the truth instead of a frilly, decadent frock that has been worn by Hollywood's vampires.

The only god that I seem to follow is the dollar. It defines what I can and cannot have. It provides security and brings me food, granted if I can perform the ritual of "buying". High-priests of this god demand that I work in the temple so that way I am contributing to the institution as whole. I'm working at accomplishing training so that way I can then accept greater tutelage and move up in the hierarchy.
---- And that folks, is a good analogy for our society, IMHO.
