I used to be an avid fan of the old black and white horror movies, many of which featured Dracula with Bela Lugosi, Lon Chaney and others. The late 60s and 70s brought a number of classic remakes with Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and others. And now we have the modern vampire movie, largely a direct off shoot of filming Anne RIce's works.

So, which era of vampire movie do you prefer?

I like the movies with the older movies about vampires... they're great! So corny Everyone knows that vampires aren't really just black and white. There's always the red blood!

I'm fine with that era and when i watch back some film like that. They really great in actor and looks real right? No wonder many people love to watch vampire movie today. Just wonder if someone will made new vampire movies recently.

The era of vampires is over... it's just the remembrance of them that hangs with us. Maybe it will come back and with modern technology many things can be achieved. I also like the most recent one I've seen. It was about a boy and a boy vampire and his family. Than something about a moon and a necklace I am GREAT at explaining things!

I agree with mafia in a way, I mean how many times can you remake dracula? There seems to be a set of rules the movies follow in portraying a vampire, and they are normally all the same. I prefer newer movies, or more so tv shows, that can give more indepth stories and not just the same story told with different actors. They are the ones that evoke my thought process and interest me more and more.

I like most of the Era's, but the classics (Black and white mainly) are the best.

I like the modern movies which put vampires into their historical and cultural context and don't just play them for cheap scary effects like some of the older movies do.

i like modern times Vampire movies because they have excellent sounds and graphics. but i agree with mafia that there more Vampire era because of repeated things in movies.

Oh, I agree. Many of the earlier movies were exploring a new realm and really defining the horror genre. And many did portray vampires in historical and cultural settings that, in accordance with then modern day knowledge and attitudes, were correct historically and culturally.
