early 80's had big hair and disco clothes. Open neck shirts and gold chains etc. Platform shoes. The later 80's had layered hair. The punks started then with spiked hair, mohawks, blue hair. Piercings etc.

We had all of those categories! Fashion... Early 80's, I was in middle school/high school. Lot's of florescent colors. T shirts that said " Choose Life" That fashion statement came from the group Wham. Leg warmers,jean skirts, jean jackets with images on the back. 80's music...... AWESOME! Check out any 80's station on the web. You'll have to listen for yourself. Music was broken into very different areas. You had you Heavy Metal hair bands like Metalica. You had a lot of music coming from movie sound tracks like "The Breakfast Club" Then there was the very beginning of rap. Groups like Run DMC were big.As far as stereo types were concerned we had the preps: The cheer leaders and jocks, we had the skater: Skateboard freaks with the long bangs. im doin a project on this too.theres stuff wit ronald reagan or sumthin..i got some pop culture part of this group project..people were b-boys, skinheads, mods and rudies, goths, heavy metal rockers, teddyboys, rockabillies, and the youth got farther away from the adult world. these different styles were created in the 80s and a few were rebirths from older decades. um.. because of all this change women had more say in the styles they wore so they made new trends and clothings. many female workers wore sorta masculine outfits. i read that in some book. goths dressed in all black stuff. wore crucifixes, fish nets and make up on their faces. like weird designs. (freaky).. my mom told me they wore spandex stuff(wasnt happy hearing tht frum HER).. yea influences of styles were madonna cher and (flavor flav?)there wer spandex outfits and hair dos were like flat tops, mullets fer girls.. um.. look up madonna and 1980s clothes on google and other site. see wat u can get.oh and some dudes wore short shorts.(weird)
