it depends which legends you follow.. Strigoi the slavic and romanian vampires are not afraid of garlic.. but instead have to count them... or grains of sand or rice before passing these objects... evbery vampire legend has a different origin and different traits.. werewolves are the same.. there are actual shapeshifters or there is german witches that wear cursed belts... then there are native indiands who wear pelts...
again all different... there are genetic conditions ie Proferia.. ect too that some of these legends have in common
