Watching you sleeping while I live an endless day
You softly breathe my name, my ears pricking at the sound. I thought I heard wrong, but there it is again. Your lips forming my name as you dream. I pray that it is me that you dream of, not some faceless stranger that shares my name.

I am always watching over your shoulder, caring for you in ways that you can not conceive.
My heart tears in my chest when you speak of others when I know that you should speak of me.
I'm only myself when I'm with you, for you bring out what is inside of me and let it shine brighter than the sun that you love so much, the sun that I loathe so deeply.
And though I love you deeper than any ocean, I never miss you.
You are always there with me in some way. Physically or spiritually, I can always tell that you're near to me.
If I could dream at all, it would be about you.
